Dear Referees:
To be assigned games next year, you must -- by Valentine's Day at the latest --
Required are:
1. A five hours recertification clinic
2. Written test (min. 75% for grade 8 referees)
3. Fitness test
4. Submit the follow to Heinz Meyer on the day of the clinic:
1. Completed, signed USSF registration form
2. A $35 check payable to Mi. Referee Comm.
3. A $30 check payable to WMSRA ($15 for youth and associate members).
There are four re-registration clinics every year in West Michigan:
The Grand Rapids and Muskegon events do not offer the fitness test. These may be taken in August in Grand Rapids (contact Keith Miller at 616.667.2401) or after the High School Rules Meeting in August in Kalamazoo. Other tests will be scheduled at KVCC (see www.WMSRA.com).
If you cannot attend any one of the four clinics, you must make arrangements with a referee chapter in Lansing or Detroit for in-service training and testing (see www.msysareferee.net).
For recert clinics outside Kalamazoo, please download a "Recertification Proof" form from www.WMSRA.com and have it signed by the instructor.
P.S.: If you are difficult to schedule for USSF games because of your work schedule, please send Heinz a note indicating when you are not available (an annual calendar with crossed-out days is best). If you do not want to referee in the Spring, please call Heinz (344-4848) before Valentine's Day.
If you cannot to referee in the Spring or Fall season, please call early enough - before a lot of work has gone into scheduling you!
